Lens Types

Blue Light Lenses

Blue light lenses can help improve your sleep and prevent digital eye strain. Excessive exposure to blue light from digital devices can be uncomfortable and cause some pain. Blue light is also emitted naturally from the sun and is beneficial during the day because it heightens your attention span, uplifts your mood, and improves reaction times.

Anti-Reflective Coatings

Anti-reflective coating is a special lens treatment that helps minimize reflection, glare, and halos.

Minimizing the reflection on your glasses helps reduce eye strain, improves your vision, and makes the lens of your eyeglasses nearly invisible. People will see your eyes better, not a reflection on your lenses.

Anti-Scratch Coatings

An anti-scratch coating is a lens treatment that creates a harder surface that’s more resistant to scratching, increasing its durability.

However, even anti-scratch coatings can’t fully protect your glasses from wear and tear. A good way to maintain the longevity of your glasses is to store them in a cushioned case and clean them with a microfibre cloth.

Aspheric Lenses

Aspheric lenses are designed with less curvature for moderate to high prescriptions. This allows for a thinner, lighter, and more comfortable lens with better peripheral vision. They also reduce distortion and glare, making them great for activities like driving.

High-Index Lenses

High-index lenses are ideal for those with strong prescriptions for high refractive errors like nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. These lenses are thinner and lighter than traditional high-strength lenses, making them more comfortable.

Photochromic Lenses

Photochromic lenses automatically darken when exposed to sunlight and return to clear when indoors. They can be more convenient and cost-effective because you don’t need to buy 2 pairs of glasses and continuously switch between them.

Progressive Lenses

Progressive lenses offer a smooth transition between multiple prescriptions in one lens. These are ideal for those needing correction for both near and distant vision.

Digital Lenses

Digital lenses are designed to provide better visual clarity compared to traditional lenses. These lenses have sharper image quality, stronger peripheral vision, and better contrast sensitivity.

Prism Lenses

Prism lenses are often used to correct problems like double vision. If you have a slight misalignment in your eyes, you see 2 separate images of the same object. These lenses redirect light to the right place on the retina, allowing the brain to fuse the 2 images into one clear image.
